Schenley Plaza

Navigate to Schenley Plaza at Forbes Avenue and Schenley Drive. It is the north Oakland edge of the larger park, across from Carnegie Library and downhill from Flagstaff Hill.

The Conservancy identifies parallel and head-in street parking around the plaza. Read meter and event restrictions carefully; university activity and Phipps traffic can fill the immediate spaces.

The outdoor plaza follows posted City park hours. The PNC Carousel, The Porch, kiosks, rentals and events use separate seasonal or daily schedules.

Do not assume an always-open public restroom in the lawn. Use an open staffed plaza business, library, museum or Phipps only under that operator's access rules and hours.

Ordinary lawn, seating and path access is free. Carousel rides, food, rentals and ticketed or reserved events cost separately.

The central plaza has broad paved walks and a relatively level lawn-edge route, but curb cuts, temporary event furniture, grass and crowding can affect movement.

Leashed dogs may use ordinary outdoor plaza areas under City rules. Keep pets out of food-service seating, the carousel and any posted or event-controlled zone.

The open lawn, seasonal carousel and nearby food can make an easy family stop. Confirm carousel operation and plan a restroom before settling in.

Treat the plaza, carousel and food operators as separate schedules. A quiet lawn visit can change quickly during university events, festivals or rentals.

Frequent buses serve Oakland and Schenley Plaza; lower areas require a downhill walk and uphill return.
