Beaver Marsh

Navigate to Ira Trailhead, then travel one quarter mile north on the Towpath Trail to the marsh boardwalk. The navigation pin marks the correct parking gateway, not the middle of the wetland.

Use Ira Trailhead at 3801 Riverview Road. The lot typically fills by noon on fair-weather weekends, so arrive early and never improvise parking along Riverview Road.

The Towpath and marsh are generally accessible beyond ordinary daytime hours, but wildlife viewing is best in daylight. Carry a light and reflective clothing if out after dark, and check current Towpath closures before departure.

Ira Trailhead has accessible vault restrooms, picnic tables and an information kiosk. There is no separate restroom on the marsh boardwalk.

The trailhead, Towpath and marsh are free and require no entry reservation.

The quarter-mile Towpath route from Ira Trailhead to Beaver Marsh is fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. The shared trail can be congested, so stay right and watch for bicycles.

Leashed pets are allowed on the Towpath with a leash six feet or shorter. Keep pets close on the narrow boardwalk, away from wildlife and out of the wetland.

The short accessible walk and frequent wildlife sightings make this a strong family stop. Keep children to the right on the shared trail, do not feed wildlife and bring binoculars for viewing without crowding animals.

This is a shared bicycle and walking corridor, not a secluded boardwalk. Go early for parking and calmer wildlife viewing; 2026 Towpath work can affect the Hunt House-to-Beaver Marsh segment, so check current conditions even when Ira access appears open.

The park is spread across a large valley. Seasonal railroad and limited regional options exist, but most visitors drive or bicycle between selected stops.
