Grandview Park

Navigate to Grandview Park on Bailey Avenue, south of the Monongahela-facing ridge. The playground and bandstand are in this developed park area; do not follow a Grandview Avenue overlook pin and expect to arrive at the same entrance.

Use legal Bailey Avenue neighborhood parking and any event-specific traffic direction. The City prohibits parking on lawns and service roads, and large movie, concert or Independence Day programs can change normal access.

Open park areas follow posted City hours: 6:00 a.m. to sunset when unlighted and until 11:00 p.m. when lighted. Movies and concerts begin on announced dates and keep their own weather, start-time and event rules.

The City does not promise an always-open public restroom for an ordinary playground visit. Event toilets or a permitted facility should not be assumed available on a different day; confirm the specific program or facility before leaving.

The playground, lawns and ordinary park use are free. The City's scheduled Cinema in the Park and Jam at Grandview series are promoted as public programming, while food, beverages, permits and other special events can have separate costs or rules.

The developed playground and bandstand area is more suitable for a short family visit than Emerald View's natural hillside trails, but the park remains sloped. Check the exact Bailey Avenue drop-off, curb and internal route when step-free access is essential.

Dogs must remain leashed and are not allowed in the playground or courts. The City's year-round Mount Washington off-leash area is at Olympia Park, not Grandview Park.

The renovated playground is the dependable child-focused feature. For a movie or concert, check the current City schedule, bring weather-appropriate seating only where permitted and expect larger crowds and altered parking around the bandstand.

Grandview Park and the Grandview Avenue overlooks are different arrivals. In summer 2026 the City lists Saturday movies from June 13 through July 25 and Saturday Jam at Grandview concerts in August; verify the event page for weather or schedule changes before traveling.

Mount Washington buses and the inclines can reduce driving, but they do not deliver visitors to every park component. Check the final uphill or downhill walk to the exact overlook, neighborhood park or trailhead before selecting a stop.
