Lion Crushing a Serpent

Look in the southwest portion of the square between the central plaza and the 19th Street side. Use the exact sculpture pin rather than searching the full perimeter.

The sculpture has no separate parking. Arrive by transit, walking or a paid garage and enter from the southwest or nearest available corner.

View it during ordinary park access before the 10 p.m. curfew. Conservation work, fencing, snow or an event may temporarily limit close approach.

There is no restroom at the sculpture and no documented standalone park restroom. Plan a nearby confirmed-open facility.

Outdoor viewing is free.

Use the paved park walks, then assess the final approach around benches, plantings and historic surfaces. Do not cross closed lawn or conservation barriers for a closer view.

Leashed dogs are permitted on general paths but should remain away from the bronze and landscaping.

The lion makes an engaging stop on a short sculpture hunt. Children should view rather than climb the artwork and remain close around busy paths.

This is protected public art, not play equipment. Pair it with Duck Girl and Billy for a compact walking loop, and respect any temporary conservation enclosure.

Center City transit is generally easier than driving. The square occupies the block between Walnut Street, Rittenhouse Street, 18th Street and 19th Street; route to the stop nearest the corner you intend to use rather than to a broad neighborhood pin.
