Liberty Bell Center

Enter from Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets and move south through the exhibits toward the Bell and Chestnut Street exit. The line is separate from Independence Square security.

Use the paid AutoPark beneath the Visitor Center or another legal paid option; the Liberty Bell Center has no dedicated lot or drop-off lane. SEPTA's 5th Street station is nearby.

Open daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Security screening closes at least five minutes before the building closes; lines or capacity can end practical entry earlier.

There are no public restrooms in the Liberty Bell Center. Use the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market before entering the line.

Admission is free and no ticket or reservation is required. Entry is first-come, first-served after security screening.

The center is wheelchair accessible. Its video is open-captioned and audio-described, assistive listening devices are available, and a tactile replica of the Bell's inscription is provided.

Pets are not permitted inside. NPS-recognized service animals are allowed and still pass through the visitor screening process with their handler.

The short self-guided exhibits and close Bell view work well for children, and strollers are allowed. All stroller compartments and carried items are screened, so pack lightly.

No ticket does not mean no wait. Visit near opening or later in the afternoon for a better chance at a shorter line, use the restroom first, and leave knives, pepper spray and other prohibited items behind.

SEPTA's 5th Street/Independence Hall station is beside the Visitor Center and Liberty Bell area, and PATCO's 8th & Market station is a short walk west. The historic district is compact, so choose one arrival point and walk between most major sites rather than moving a car.
