Burke Lake Railroad

Enter at 7315 Ox Road, then follow the official park map and train signs to the railroad station near the carousel and family recreation area.

Large activity-specific lots are distributed inside the entrance. The marina and railroad have separate parking areas, while the dam and 24-hour state boat launch use a separate approach outside the main family recreation core.

In 2026 the train runs weekends April 4-June 17, daily June 18-August 23, and weekends August 24-November 1, generally 11 a.m.-6 p.m. with the last ride at 5:45 p.m. Weather and events can alter service.

Permanent restrooms are available in the nearby ice cream parlor and Shelter A/B areas; seasonal facilities are also mapped around the family activity zone.

The railroad is a ticketed attraction with current pricing posted through Fairfax County's purchase system. General park access does not include a train ride.

The developed station has a defined boarding area; contact park staff before visiting for a specific boarding or seating accommodation.

Do not plan to bring a pet aboard the railroad. Leashed dogs may use permitted surrounding park areas; service animals follow applicable access rules.

The approximately ten-minute ride is designed as a family attraction. Check the same-day weather status and last departure before promising children a ride.
