Bison Pastures

The pin is the exact geotag of the destination-specific bison photograph near the enclosure. It marks one public viewing position, not a promise that the moving herd will be at that point.

Use the Nature Center at 1415 Darby Creek Drive for the winter-enclosure balcony. In summer, consult the official map for Darby Creek Greenway access and pasture viewing before choosing a lot.

The outdoor viewing areas follow the park's seasonal hours: 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. April through September and 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. October through March. The Nature Center closes earlier.

The most reliable nearby restrooms are at the Nature Center during its shorter building hours. The operator does not list a dedicated restroom at each pasture viewpoint.

There is no listed admission charge for ordinary bison viewing, park trails or the Nature Center. Programs and reservable facilities can require registration or separate fees.

The five-mile gravel Darby Creek Greenway is listed as ADA, but viewing distance, vegetation and exact sightlines vary. Confirm the current Nature Center and trail approach rather than assuming every fence line is accessible.

Pets may use Darby Creek Greenway on a leash no longer than six feet. Keep animals well back from bison fencing and never allow them to disturb or approach wildlife.

Bison viewing can pair with the Nature Center, but the herd may be distant. Bring binoculars, keep children behind every barrier and avoid promising a close wildlife encounter.

Bison are large wild animals, not a petting exhibit. Never cross or reach through fencing. The herd uses a winter pasture by the Nature Center and a separate summer pasture viewed from the Greenway, so check the operator's current guidance before leaving.
