Use the exact bridge pin east of Wendy Park. The bridge spans the active railroad corridor between the Lake Link Trail and Whiskey Island; it is not the park's vehicle entrance or the lift bridge visible farther along the river.

For a car-free approach, start from a legal Lake Link Trail access point and cross the bridge. Drivers visiting the main park should use Whiskey Island Drive and Wendy Park parking rather than trying to reach the bridge deck by vehicle.

The outdoor bridge follows park and connected-trail access, generally 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Favor daylight and avoid the exposed crossing during lightning, high winds, snow or ice; maintenance can close the bridge independently.
