Mansion House Lawn

Navigate to the mapped lawn on Mansion House Drive rather than to Druid Lake or Rawlings Conservatory. The photographed lawn is an open landscape, not the zoo's ticket entrance.

Use a legal open space serving Mansion House Drive or the selected nearby attraction. Zoo parking and access rules apply if the trip enters zoo property; do not cross a closed gate or use service roads as shortcuts.

The outdoor lawn follows daylight park access unless an event permit, zoo operation, maintenance activity, or posted closure restricts it.

There is no guaranteed restroom on the lawn. Nearby zoo restrooms are inside the ticketed attraction, so plan restroom access before settling into this area.

Casual access to ordinary park lawn is free. Zoo admission, permitted events, programs, and reservations are separate.

Roadside and paved approaches exist, while the lawn itself is grass with natural grades and weather-sensitive footing. Use the nearest legal arrival point for a shorter firm-surface approach.

Leashed dogs may use ordinary outdoor park areas but may not enter Maryland Zoo grounds. Keep dogs clear of organized activities and remove waste.

The open lawn offers room to pause and move, but it has no dedicated staffed family facilities. Maintain supervision near roads and confirm whether an event controls the space.

The lawn and zoo are adjacent but not interchangeable. A lawn visit does not include zoo entry, restrooms, or parking privileges, and permitted events can temporarily change access.

MTA bus routes serve different edges of Druid Hill Park, and the Jones Falls Trail reaches the park by bike and foot. The nearest stop may still be a long walk from the attraction you selected.
