Lake Calavera Loop Trail

Choose a signed Lake Calavera trailhead and confirm that it connects to the lake route rather than only to the summit network.

Use only legal trailhead or street parking. Small access points can fill and may not include dedicated lots.

Use during daylight and follow posted preserve hours and closures.

Do not rely on a public restroom at the natural trailhead; use facilities before arriving.

Natural dirt and gravel, grades, ruts, mud, and narrow sections limit continuous step-free travel.

Leashed dogs are allowed on City trails; keep them out of the water and habitat and remove waste.

Lake and summit routes intersect. Keep an offline map or photograph the trailhead map so a short lake walk does not become an unintended climb. Carry water, watch for heat and uneven footing, avoid muddy trails, and stay out of the reservoir and protected habitat.
