Shelby Farms Park

The park and Greenline are open sunrise to sunset every day of the year. Woodland Discovery Playground opens at 9 a.m. and closes one hour before sunset; rentals, restaurants, shops, and activities use separate schedules.

The park has multiple reservable pavilions, including Hyde Lake, Tour de Wolf, Stables, Chickasaw, Jones Pond, Pine Lake, and Beaver Lake; Tour de Wolf is specifically shaded by trees. First Horizon Foundation Visitor Center and FedEx Event Center offer indoor space only during their own open or event hours. Lakes, trails, playgrounds, fields, and open lawns are exposed, and outdoor pavilions are not severe-weather shelters.

Choose by destination and group size. Hyde Lake Pavilion holds about 90 and includes 12 tables, a double grill, serving counter, electricity, non-potable water, nearby indoor restrooms, and accessible access beside Hyde Lake. Tour de Wolf, Stables, Chickasaw, Jones Pond, Pine Lake, and Beaver Lake pavilions serve other parts of the park. Pavilions and large picnic areas require advance reservations, and personal grills are prohibited unless approved with the rental.

Shelby Farms Park does not publish one direct bus route to its Visitor Center. MATA service can reach surrounding corridors, while the paved Shelby Farms Greenline provides named access points at Sycamore View, Farm Road at Mullins Station, Whitten Road, Appling Road, Germantown Parkway, and other streets. For a first visit, Heart of the Park around Hyde Lake contains the Visitor Center, lake promenade, boat house, event center, restaurant, and major lawns. Woodland Discovery Playground, Water Play Sprayground, Pine Lake Outpost, and Go Ape form a separate family cluster. Other major destinations include the buffalo herd, Shelby Farms Greenline, Outback off-leash dog park, stables, Tour de Wolf and Wolf River trails, disc golf, and more than 20 lakes.
