Powell Butte Summit Meadow

The summit meadow offers broad Cascade views and little weather shelter; wind, heat, smoke, rain, and lightning can be more intense than in the forest.

The main visitor-center lot is reached from SE 162nd Avenue and closes promptly at the seasonal gate time. Secondary neighborhood trailheads have limited street access and different facilities.

The park is open 5:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Main road and lot hours are seasonal: generally 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. in winter, 8:00 p.m. in spring and fall, and 10:00 p.m. in summer.

An accessible restroom is listed at the visitor-center area. Remote trails and neighborhood entrances do not provide dependable facilities or water.

Park, trails, visitor-center access, views, and parking are free. Programs, transportation, equipment, and external services may cost.

Dogs are allowed only while leashed and on trail; off-leash and off-trail use are prohibited to protect wildlife and habitat.
