Promenade

Navigate to the named Promenade rather than the broad Scioto Mile corridor. Its exact mapped way follows the east bank of the Scioto River beside Civic Center Drive.

Use downtown garages, surface lots or metered street parking; the official visitor guide does not promise a dedicated Promenade lot.

The Promenade is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; events, high water, construction or maintenance can affect individual sections.

Permanent accessible restrooms are near the Scioto Mile fountain south of the Promenade. The operator does not list a dedicated restroom on the Promenade itself.

The Promenade is free. Downtown parking, reservations, concessions and ticketed events cost separately.

The Promenade uses broad paved paths, but the operator warns that the 175-acre Scioto Mile includes mixed terrain and long distances. Accessible parking and loading zones are listed elsewhere along the corridor.

Dogs are welcome on leash. Keep pets out of and away from the interactive fountain when continuing south along the riverfront.

The paved riverfront route works for family walks, but it is a linear waterfront rather than a fenced play area; supervise children near streets and the river edge.

Choose a turnaround point before starting. High water, festivals and construction may interrupt a longer riverfront route even while the Promenade remains generally open.

The official directions page recommends arriving by COTA, bicycle or on foot as alternatives to downtown parking.
