Scioto Mile

Bicentennial Park and the Promenade are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The fountain, restrooms, events and reservable spaces keep shorter or seasonal schedules.

The official visitor guide points to downtown parking garages, surface lots and metered street spaces. Event and festival closures can change the closest approach.

The Scioto Mile spans more than 175 acres from the Arena District to the Whittier Peninsula, so choose a named park or attraction before parking. The Promenade address is 233 Civic Center Drive.

Permanent accessible restrooms are near the fountain; summer restrooms and changing facilities are also listed at Bicentennial Park and Dorrian Green. The operator does not promise the seasonal facilities year-round.

The parks and fountains are free and open to the public. Parking, concessions, reservations and ticketed events cost separately.

The operator lists accessible parking, two loading zones, permanent accessible restrooms and accessible routes to the stage lawn, while warning that the 175-acre riverfront includes mixed terrain and long distances.

Dogs are welcome on leash, but the official rules keep them out of and away from the fountain. Service animals are allowed throughout the site.

Children eight and younger must be accompanied by an adult in the fountain, and children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers. The recirculated fountain water is not drinking water.

The official directions page recommends arriving by COTA, bicycle or on foot as alternatives to downtown parking.

The interactive fountain is seasonal and can close for weather, sanitation or maintenance. Festivals, construction and high water can affect parts of the riverfront independently.
