The High Line

Summer hours are generally daily 7 AM-11 PM; closing times change seasonally and weather or maintenance can close sections.

There is no park parking. Nearby garages are expensive and street parking is scarce; subway, bus, walking, or biking to a chosen entrance is more reliable.

Choose an entrance based on the section you want. Elevators are listed at Gansevoort, 14th, 23rd, and 30th Streets, with ramp access at Hudson Yards; verify elevator status before an accessible visit.

Public restrooms are available near Gansevoort Street, West 16th Street, and West 30th Street. The long narrow route makes planning the next restroom important.

Entry is free. Food, shop purchases, and some partner experiences cost extra.

The park is wheelchair accessible through elevators and ramps, but individual elevators can be out of service. The route can be crowded and seating intervals vary.

Dogs and other pets are prohibited, except service animals.

Children often enjoy the train tracks, overlooks, art, and seating steps, but this is a linear promenade rather than a playground park. Hold hands near busy paths and exits.

The A/C/E and L serve 14th Street; 1/2/3 and 7 serve the northern area; buses run along Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Avenues.

Bicycles, scooters, skating, smoking, picking plants, and climbing on railings or art are prohibited. Crowds are lighter near opening and on the northern sections. Check the official access page the day of travel because elevator outages and temporary section closures can change the usable route.

Check New York City's hourly forecast, heat index, rain, wind, air quality, and sunset. Waterfront, island, and elevated parks can feel windier and more exposed than nearby streets.
