Wetlands Nature Preserve

Wetlands Nature Preserve is a distinct landscaped or habitat area within Clark County Wetlands Park; stay on established routes and respect plantings and wildlife.

Use the main Nature Center lot for the preserve, exhibits and neighborhood park. Duck Creek, Pabco, Wells and other trailheads serve different parts of the 2,900 acres and are not interchangeable.

Trails, trailhead parking and trailhead restrooms are open daily dawn to dusk. The Nature Center is open Tuesday-Sunday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Wetlands Nature Preserve may keep shorter, seasonal, staffed, reserved, heat-dependent or daylight-only hours; verify its current status before relying on parent hours.

Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and selected trailheads. Sunrise facilities and parking are currently closed due to damage, and construction may affect Duck Creek later.

Park trails, Nature Preserve and Nature Center admission are free. Programs requiring registration may have separate limits or fees.

The Nature Preserve has about three miles of paved ADA-accessible trails, while portions of the broader Wetlands Loop are unpaved or interrupted. Use the current map rather than assuming a complete paved circuit.

Dogs and bicycles are prohibited inside the Nature Preserve to protect wildlife. Leashed dogs are allowed at trailheads, Duck Creek Trails and the Wetlands Loop Trail.

The Nature Center, pond overlooks, wildlife signs and Neighborhood Park work well for children. Open water, heat, coyotes and other wildlife require close supervision.

Nature Preserve Way has construction impacts, Sunrise parking and restroom are closed, and future Duck Creek access interruptions are expected; check the current notices before choosing a trailhead.

Transit reaches parts of the east valley, but the park's multiple trailheads and sparse internal connections make a car or prearranged ride more practical.
