Lake Lynn Park

Use 7921 Ray Road for the community center, playgrounds, courts, field, shelter, and a practical starting point for the lake loop. Lake Lynn also has neighborhood greenway approaches, but those are not substitutes for the main facility lot when you need indoor restrooms or are meeting for a program.

Greenway users may enter the 2.8-mile loop from connecting neighborhood paths, but route to the community center when your visit depends on restrooms, a rental, gym schedule, playground, tennis court, or staffed assistance.

Restrooms are inside the community center, not continuously along the lake loop. They are available during center hours: Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sunday 1-6 p.m., subject to holidays, maintenance, and program access. Plan before starting the 2.8-mile circuit.

Outdoor park space and amenities are generally open dawn to dusk daily. The community center stays open Monday-Friday 7 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sunday 1-6 p.m. Tennis-court lights can operate until 10 p.m., but that does not extend access to every park facility.

General entry, the paved lake loop, playgrounds, and first-come outdoor court use are free. Classes, indoor gym use under certain programs, field reservations, room rentals, and the picnic shelter charge. The shelter is listed at $20 per hour, and rental applications and deposits can add fees.

The lake loop is paved and the developed community-center campus has paved circulation, making it more predictable than a natural trail. Bridges, slopes, surface wear, and temporary closures still vary around the 2.8-mile circuit. The paved greenway loop around Lake Lynn is 2.8 miles. It includes pedestrian bridges and connects into Raleigh's greenway network, so watch signs at trail junctions if you want the lake-only circuit. Allow extra time with children, wheels, fishing stops, or crowded bridge sections.

Lake Lynn has separate woodchip-surface playground areas for ages 2-5 and ages 5-12, with toddler swings listed by the City. Restrooms are inside the community center and follow building hours, so a dawn, dusk, or holiday playground visit may not have restroom access.

The park has four outdoor tennis courts with backboards and push-button lighting from dusk to 10 p.m., plus two first-come bocce courts. The community center has two indoor full gym courts lined for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball; indoor availability follows programs, open play, rentals, and fees.

Fishing is allowed from the docks and pedestrian bridge. Anglers need a current fishing license and must use live bait. Bank fishing is prohibited, and personal watercraft are not allowed, so do not plan to fish from the shoreline or launch a kayak.
