A three-acre historic cemetery and sacred park space where more than 900 former Dix Hospital patients were buried, maintained by the City of Raleigh with restoration work planned. The cemetery is north of Flowers Field near Dawkins Drive, between Pine Loop Trail and the Sunflower Field area. This is not a play or picnic area. Keep voices low, supervise children, leave memorial features undisturbed, and use the history signage to understand the people buried here.
