Dodge Fountain

Use the exact named fountain pin in Hart Plaza's central plaza, south of Jefferson Avenue. The fountain is inside Hart Plaza; the Monument to Joe Louis and Spirit of Detroit are separate landmarks outside it.

Use a downtown garage or legal meter and check the Hart Plaza event schedule. Large events can impose closures, security screening and special parking rates.

The fountain is outdoors in a plaza the City lists as open year-round, but water operation is seasonal and can stop for winterization, maintenance, weather or events. The City has not posted a dependable daily water-show schedule.

The City does not promise an always-open restroom at the fountain. Event facilities can be controlled inside a perimeter; verify before relying on one.

Viewing the fountain during ordinary plaza access is free. Events and parking may cost separately.

Paved plaza routes reach the fountain, but stairs, ramps, wet surfaces and event barricades can affect the final approach. Contact the City or event operator for a specific accommodation.

Do not allow pets in the fountain basin or assume they are admitted during events. Follow current Hart Plaza and event rules.

The fountain is an easy visual stop when the plaza is open, but water operation is not guaranteed and event crowds can change the experience.

The City restored and reopened the fountain in June 2024, then documented seasonal winterization. Verify same-day water operation and event access rather than promising that the jets are running.

Financial District is the closest People Mover station identified by the City for a 2026 Hart Plaza event. QLINE and DDOT also serve downtown, and the RiverWalk connects on foot.
