Olmsted Island Great Falls Overlook

Park at Great Falls Tavern, then follow the signed route about one-half mile to the overlook; the boardwalk itself is roughly one-quarter mile each way.

Use the entrance-station parking at Great Falls Tavern. The lot fills on pleasant weekends and during high-water viewing; arrive near opening, and never park on MacArthur Boulevard or block emergency access.

The overlook is included with park admission and is an easy, ADA-accessible boardwalk route. Pets are prohibited; stay on the boards, keep children close, and never climb toward the river.

Use Tavern-area restrooms before starting. There are no restrooms, water, or trash cans on the island boardwalk.
