Great Falls Launch Boat Program

Begin at Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center. Every participant must be present when free same-day tickets are released one hour before the scheduled ride.

Use the entrance-station parking at Great Falls Tavern. The lot fills on pleasant weekends and during high-water viewing; arrive near opening, and never park on MacArthur Boulevard or block emergency access.

Rides follow a seasonal program schedule and can be canceled for weather, heat, wind, or canal conditions; confirm the current NPS listing on the visit day.

Use accessible Tavern-area restrooms before boarding; the approximately thirty-minute launch boat has limited capacity and space.

Same-day launch-boat tickets are free, first-come, and cannot be reserved.

The small launch boat has limited capacity and boarding space; contact the park before visiting for a specific mobility accommodation.

Pets are not permitted on the launch boat except service animals.
