Cabin John Regional Park

Outdoor park areas are open daily from sunrise to sunset, while lighted courts close at 11 p.m. The miniature train, ice rink, nature center, tennis center, campground, shelters, and scheduled programs keep separate hours.

Free parking is distributed among separate facility lots. The Westlake Drive lot near the dog park and Power Line Trail North trailhead is under phased renovation through summer 2026, with part of the lot remaining open and traffic patterns subject to change.

Use the destination-specific address rather than the general park pin. The train is at 7410 Tuckerman Lane, while the ice rink and several athletic facilities are reached from Westlake Drive.

Restrooms are available at developed park facilities, but access follows each building or seasonal area's schedule. Identify the closest open facility to the train, rink, playground, shelter, or trailhead before starting a longer visit.

General park, playground, trail, dog-park, and unreserved picnic access are free. The miniature train is $4 per rider in the 2026 regular season, with children under two free with a paying adult; skating, rentals, camping, permits, and reservations charge separately.

Developed facilities include accessible parking and routes, and Montgomery Parks accepts accommodation requests through its Program Access office. Trail surfaces, grades, older picnic areas, and the active Westlake lot project require destination-specific planning.

Dogs must remain leashed outside the fenced dog park. The dog park is free from sunrise to sunset, separates dogs at 20 pounds or less from larger dogs, and requires current legally required vaccinations.

The train, Adventure Playground, picnic shelters, paved paths, and ice rink make this a strong all-day family park, but the ticketed attractions are not continuously open. Check the exact facility before promising a ride or skate.

Ride On routes 42 and 47 stop on Democracy Boulevard near the tennis center and Locust Grove Nature Center. Other destinations may require a substantial internal walk, so map the final facility rather than relying on the park address alone.

The park works as several activity zones, not one compact stop. Check the train's weather status, rink session calendar, current construction and event notices, and the correct parking entrance before leaving.

Bring water and a backup snack unless a currently open concession is confirmed near the exact destination. Food availability, vending, and event vendors are not consistent across this large public place.
