Orpheus Statue

Use the exact named OpenStreetMap artwork pin on the west side of the park. The monument sits along the Seawall Trail, west of the Star Fort and southwest of the main parking area.

Park in the free main visitor lot and walk the Seawall Trail to the monument. There is no separate monument parking, and nearby roads are not visitor spaces.

The outdoor monument follows park-ground hours and gate closures. It does not share the Star Fort admission requirement or interior closing line.

There are no restrooms at the statue. Use the Visitor Center or Star Fort facilities while those buildings are open.

Viewing Orpheus and walking the surrounding trail are free. Star Fort admission is separate.

The monument is reached from the paved, wheelchair-accessible Seawall Trail. The final viewing angle and nearby lawn may have grades or grass.

Leashed pets may visit the outdoor monument and trail. Keep the leash within six feet, remove waste and do not continue into pet-restricted historic or building areas.

Orpheus is an easy visual landmark on a short trail segment, but there is no staffed interpretation or play equipment at the statue itself.

The monument is commonly described as Orpheus, while its mapped full name is Orpheus with the Awkward Foot. Save the exact pin because it is outside the Star Fort interior.

MTA bus service reaches the Locust Point area, but the final walk can be substantial. Bicycles are allowed on paved park areas but not inside the historic zone.
