Cylburn Mansion

Follow the paved internal route north from the main parking area to the named Mansion building. It is beyond the Vollmer Center circle and should not be confused with the Nature Education Center or Greenhouse Classroom.

Use free arboretum parking near the main entrance and Vollmer Center, then walk to the Mansion. Accessible spaces are in the upper lot; events can change the closest available route.

The current August 2026 facilities schedule lists Mansion hours Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., with tours and activities on the second Saturday and Sunday. Recheck before visiting because building hours change separately from outdoor grounds.

Do not rely on Mansion restrooms outside staffed hours. The Greenhouse Classroom is the documented restroom location during general arboretum hours, with other building facilities available only when those buildings are open.

Viewing the Mansion exterior and ordinary arboretum grounds is free. Guided tours, rentals, programs, events and permitted photography can have separate arrangements or charges.

A paved route connects the upper parking area and Mansion zone, but historic thresholds, room access and event layouts can vary. Contact the operator before relying on a specific interior accommodation.

Leashed dogs may use the outdoor grounds but should not be expected inside the Mansion. Service-animal access follows current building rules.

The exterior and limited public hours can make a short history stop, but children must remain supervised around historic interiors, steps, furnishings and event setups.

The Mansion and arboretum do not share one schedule. Build the visit around current posted Mansion hours if going inside matters; the exterior landscape remains useful during ordinary grounds hours.

MTA service runs near Greenspring Avenue, but the final approach and distances across the grounds should be checked before relying on transit.
