Carroll Park

Ordinary outdoor park areas are open from sunrise to sunset under Baltimore City park rules. Carroll Park Recreation Center, the golf course, Mount Clare Museum House, programs and permitted events keep separate schedules.

Carroll Park stretches along Washington Boulevard and has different arrival points for the recreation center, athletic areas, golf course and Mount Clare. Navigate to the exact destination rather than relying on the general park pin, and obey current lot and street signs.

Use Washington Boulevard for the park's main destinations. The golf-course entrance is at 2100 Washington Boulevard between stone pillars, while Mount Clare and the recreation side use different approaches within the long park footprint.

The most dependable restrooms are inside the recreation center or golf facilities while those buildings are staffed. Mount Clare does not currently publish regular opening hours, and open fields do not guarantee an unlocked restroom nearby.

Ordinary park, playground, path and field access is free. Golf and FootGolf require paid tee times; recreation programs, permits and future Mount Clare admission or tours may charge separately.

Developed roads and paved paths serve the recreation center, sports areas and historic grounds, but distances, slopes and older surfaces vary. Navigate to the exact destination and contact its operator for a specific step-free route or program accommodation.

Leashed dogs are allowed in ordinary outdoor park areas under Baltimore's six-foot leash rule. Pets should stay out of staffed buildings, golf play and posted athletic areas unless the operator permits them; service animals follow applicable facility rules.

The playground, fields and rebuilt recreation center support family visits, while Mount Clare adds an outdoor history stop. Confirm the exact program, building schedule or tee time before crossing this large park for a single facility.

MTA bus service runs along Washington Boulevard and nearby streets. Confirm the stop closest to the recreation center, Mount Clare or golf entrance because the park is much longer than a single transit stop.

Do not assume every facility follows daylight park hours. Athletic fields can close for weather, golf requires a current tee time, Mount Clare currently lists regular opening times as coming soon, and permitted projects or events can redirect internal access.

Check Baltimore weather and BCRP notices before using fields, courts or the playground. Heat and limited shade matter across open recreation areas, while rain can close athletic surfaces and interrupt golf independently from general park access.

Baltimore reopened the renovated center in August 2024 with a large divisible multipurpose room that can function as a gymnasium, a lounge, classrooms, offices and restrooms. A current public drop-in schedule is not posted on the project announcement, so verify the program and staffed hours before going specifically for indoor access.

Yes. Carroll Park Golf Course is a separately operated nine-hole public course at 2100 Washington Boulevard, and FootGolf is also offered. Book a tee time and check same-day course conditions, green fees and operating hours through Baltimore Classic Five rather than arriving under general park hours.

Do not plan on regular drop-in interior access yet. Mount Clare's official visitor page currently says opening times are coming soon, while group tours are available by special request. The exterior historic grounds can be viewed during open park access unless posted work or an event restricts them.

Official park planning and recreation maps document active fields, playground and court areas, the golf course, skateboarding, Mount Clare and passive park space; individual facilities should still be checked for current condition and programming.
