Ellicott Arch and 99 Steps

Ellicott Arch and the nearby 99 Steps are historic stone landscape features in Franklin Park's interior. Routes include grades and stairs, masonry may be restricted for preservation, and this is not a staffed destination.

Parking is distributed around the 485-acre park. Navigate to the zoo, Playstead, Tiffany Moore Tot Lot, golf clubhouse, Scarboro Pond, or another exact destination before driving.

Boston parks generally close 11:30 p.m.-6 a.m. The zoo, golf course, White Stadium, playground spray features, restrooms, events, and construction zones have separate schedules.

Facilities are concentrated near staffed attractions, fields, playgrounds, and the golf or zoo areas. Remote woodland routes do not have dependable restroom coverage.

General park, trail, lawn, playground, and landmark access is free. The zoo, golf, reservations, parking for some attractions, food, and programs cost separately.

Improved entrances and paved routes connect many developed destinations, but wooded trails, steep grades, roots, pond edges, construction, and long distances vary substantially.

Leashed dogs are allowed in general park areas. Franklin Park does not currently provide a confirmed permanent off-leash dog park; keep dogs out of playgrounds and restricted attractions.

Use Tiffany Moore Tot Lot for documented accessible play and spray play, or choose the zoo separately. The Wilderness and pond are better for older children prepared for a longer walk.

Several MBTA routes serve different edges. Route 16 connects the zoo and golf side with Forest Hills and Andrew; choose transit based on the exact destination.
