Central Burying Ground

Central Burying Ground is along Boylston Street near Tremont Street. It has its own roughly daytime gate schedule, historic uneven surfaces, and no stair-free access, so do not assume the full Common's hours or accessibility.

There is no surface visitor lot. The paid Boston Common Garage beneath the park is convenient, but transit is usually simpler and events can restrict streets and garage access.

The cemetery is generally open daily about 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; gates can close for weather, maintenance, or preservation work.

Public restrooms are near the Visitor Information Center and Frog Pond when those facilities are open. Do not assume late-night or event access.

General park access, Tadpole Playground, monuments, and summer Frog Pond spray play are free. Winter skating, rentals, food, parking, and some programs cost separately.

The City lists no stair-free access at Central Burying Ground. Historic paths and gravestones require care.

Leashed dogs are allowed outside posted dog-free areas; designated off-leash use has separate rules. Dogs are not allowed in Tadpole Playground or Frog Pond facilities.

Frog Pond, Tadpole Playground, lawns, monuments, and short Freedom Trail connections make a strong family stop. Check seasonal water or skating status before promising the activity.
