Sunken Garden

The garden is immediately west of the Conservatory at the 2505 Conservatory Drive complex. The exact pin is the reviewed named garden point, corroborated by Commons camera geotags.

Navigate to 2505 Conservatory Drive and use parking for the Conservatory and garden complex. The garden and Conservatory share an arrival area but keep separate admission rules.

Closed Monday; open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00-5:00 p.m. The garden closes in inclement weather.

The most reliable nearby restrooms are inside staffed facilities during their posted hours. Do not assume indoor access when the garden is closed or after the Conservatory's last admission.

The Sunken Garden is free. The adjacent Conservatory charges $4 per person, and events or programs may be priced separately.

The formal garden uses developed walks, but grades, route conditions and temporary closures can affect access. Contact the facility before relying on a specific step-free path.

Dogs in the outdoor park must remain leashed, but planted garden areas may post additional restrictions. Keep animals controlled and out of beds and fountains, and follow signs on arrival.

The garden offers a short outdoor visit, but children need supervision around fountains, steps and plantings. Weather can close the garden independently of nearby buildings.

The restored fountains reopened June 6, 2026. Fountain operation and garden access remain weather- and maintenance-dependent, so verify current notices before traveling specifically for the water display.
