Approach from 17th Street or the Reflecting Pool paths; accessible routes enter the lowered plaza without using stairs.

Street and public garage parking is limited and often expensive. Metro, walking, cycling, or a permitted tour bus are usually more predictable; accessible spaces are distributed near individual memorials.

The memorial is free and open 24 hours. Do not enter the Rainbow Pool; ceremonies can restrict parts of the plaza.

Use nearby Mall restrooms shown on the official NPS map; there is no large visitor building inside the memorial.

Outdoor memorials and general Mall access are free. Timed-entry reservations, parking, museums, tours, and concessions may have separate charges.

Major memorials have accessible approaches, but distances, heat, temporary security zones, curb work, and crowding can make a multi-stop route demanding. Plan a shorter loop around one cluster.

Leashed pets are generally allowed in outdoor National Mall areas but not inside most buildings, monuments, or museums. Keep pets off memorial elements and clean up waste.

The grounds are family-friendly, but long distances and exposed lawns are tiring. Pick two or three nearby destinations, carry water, and use a stroller-ready route rather than attempting the entire Mall.
