Georgetown Waterfront Park

The outdoor waterfront is generally open during National Park Service park hours. The fountain is seasonal and may close for maintenance, weather, water-quality work, or winterization.

There is no dependable dedicated park lot. Use legal metered street parking or a public garage, and expect high demand on weekends and waterfront event days.

Use Wisconsin Avenue and K Street for the central fountain area, or approach the western end near Key Bridge for the labyrinth and quieter river views.

The park does not provide a dependable full-time public restroom. Identify a nearby public or customer facility before arriving and do not assume restaurants will provide access.

General waterfront, fountain, garden, and labyrinth access is free. Parking, boat rentals, food, tours, and events may charge.

Wide paved routes and river overlooks support a relatively accessible visit. River steps, wet fountain pavement, crowding, and transitions to adjacent trails can require care.

Leashed dogs are allowed outdoors under posted rules. Keep pets out of active fountain play, garden beds, and crowded events and remove waste.

The seasonal fountain is a popular free water-play stop. Bring water shoes, dry clothes, sun protection, and a backup plan in case the fountain is off.

The waterfront is not directly at a Metro station. Frequent buses, bikeshare, walking from Foggy Bottom, and the Capital Crescent Trail can be more practical than parking.

Bicycles should use the adjacent designated trail and be walked in pedestrian park areas where posted. Check the fountain and waterfront alert status before promising water play.

Bring water and a backup snack unless a currently open concession is confirmed near the exact destination. Food availability, vending, and event vendors are not consistent across this large public place.
