North off-leash dog area

The north off-leash area lies on the Dolores Street perimeter slope near the central promenade and is distinct from on-leash lawns and sports areas.

There is no destination lot. Street parking is scarce; use the J Church, nearby buses, walking, cycling, or rideshare and expect event-day restrictions.

Park hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Restrooms are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in spring and summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in fall and winter.

The park has public restrooms, but they close earlier than the park and use seasonal hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. spring/summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. fall/winter.

General park, playground, lawns, courts, field, and dog areas are free. Reservations, permits, concessions, and special events may charge.

The listed accessible children's play area and developed paths are useful, but steep lawns and grades between 18th and 20th Streets affect routes.

Two off-leash dog play areas are provided. Dogs must remain controlled and follow leash rules outside designated zones and stay out of playgrounds and active fields.

Helen Diller Playground is the primary family destination; the rest of the park is open, busy, sloped, and unfenced, requiring supervision around crowds and streets.
