Mission Dolores Park

Park hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Restrooms are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in spring and summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in fall and winter.

There is no destination lot. Street parking is scarce; use the J Church, nearby buses, walking, cycling, or rideshare and expect event-day restrictions.

Use Church and 20th Streets for Helen Diller Playground and upper views. Lower entrances near Dolores and 18th are closer to courts and flatter lawn areas.

The park has public restrooms, but they close earlier than the park and use seasonal hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. spring/summer and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. fall/winter.

General park, playground, lawns, courts, field, and dog areas are free. Reservations, permits, concessions, and special events may charge.

The listed accessible children's play area and developed paths are useful, but steep lawns and grades between 18th and 20th Streets affect routes.

Two off-leash dog play areas are provided. Dogs must remain controlled and follow leash rules outside designated zones and stay out of playgrounds and active fields.

Helen Diller Playground is the primary family destination; the rest of the park is open, busy, sloped, and unfenced, requiring supervision around crowds and streets.

The J Church runs along the west edge, with buses and BART connections nearby. Transit is usually easier than searching for parking.

Sunny afternoons and events create dense crowds. Bring layers, pack out trash, watch valuables, and confirm restroom hours before an evening visit.

Check San Francisco's neighborhood forecast, wind, fog, rain, heat, air quality, tides or surf where relevant, and daylight. Coastal conditions can differ sharply from downtown.
