Batiquitos Lagoon North Shore Trail

Choose an access point based on desired distance; the Nature Center is the best orientation stop, while Batiquitos Drive reaches additional trail segments.

Parking is dispersed among signed access points. Avoid private residential spaces and do not assume every path opening has legal public parking.

The Nature Center restroom is usually available 9 a.m.-3 p.m. when volunteers are present; facilities are not continuous along the 2.7-mile route.

The trail is generally gentle but uses natural surfaces that can narrow, soften, or become uneven. Confirm the first segment in person for mobility equipment.

Leashed dogs are allowed; keep them close and remove waste to protect sensitive habitat.

This is usually an out-and-back walk, not a short closed loop. Decide your turnaround point before walking the full shoreline distance. Bring water and sun protection, stay clear of habitat, and turn around before heat or daylight makes the return difficult.
