Arboretum Waterfront Trail

The Waterfront Trail explores wetland edges and islands with boardwalks, seasonal water, mud, and wildlife habitat.

Free lots and curb areas are distributed near Graham Visitors Center, Pacific Connections, playfield, and Japanese Garden and can fill during peak bloom.

Arboretum grounds are open daily from dawn to 8 p.m. Graham Visitors Center is generally Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; exterior restrooms are open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Exterior restrooms at Graham Visitors Center are open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional facilities are at Pacific Connections, Washington Park Playfield, and Japanese Garden.

Arboretum grounds and trails are free. Seattle Japanese Garden admission, programs, tours, events, and purchases may charge.

Developed routes serve the Visitor Center and major gardens, while woodland and waterfront paths vary in grade, roots, mud, and seasonal flooding.

Leashed dogs may use general arboretum paths where posted but are restricted from the Seattle Japanese Garden and sensitive collection areas.

Wide paths, seasonal plants, waterfront exploration, open lawns, and short loops work well; water edges and garden rules require supervision.
