Green Lake Park

The park is open daily 4 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Beaches, wading pool, Evans Pool, community center, boat programs, restrooms, and fields use separate schedules.

Small lots and curb parking are distributed around the lake and fill quickly. Choose East Beach, West Beach, fields, or Small Craft Center before navigating.

East Green Lake is closest to the community center, Evans Pool, wading pool, play area, and East Beach. West Green Lake serves the theater side and longer-season beach.

Restrooms are concentrated near the community center, beaches, play area, and active facilities and may not keep full park hours.

Park, loop, playground, beaches, wading pool when open, and general recreation are free. Pool, programs, rentals, reservations, and parking may cost.

The paved 2.8-mile loop is broadly usable, with high congestion. Pedestrians use the inner lane; wheels use the outer one-way lane with a 10 mph limit.

Dogs must be leashed on a maximum five-foot leash and controlled on the busy loop. Dogs are excluded from play areas, designated swimming beaches, and wading pool.

The play area, seasonal wading pool, beaches, fields, and flat loop offer variety, but beach lifeguards and water play are seasonal and weather dependent.

Frequent buses serve Green Lake neighborhoods. Pick a stop near the intended side because walking the full loop adds 2.8 miles.

In 2026 East Beach closes after August 23 while West Beach remains lifeguarded through September 7. Check algae, bacteria, lifeguards, wading-pool weather, and crowd conditions.
