Gas Works Park

Gas Works Park is open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Major events can restrict lots, lawns, paths, and picnic areas.

The park lot is limited and fills quickly on sunny days and events. Cycling via the Burke-Gilman Trail, transit, walking, or rideshare are often easier.

Use the Northlake Way lot for the Play Barn and central paths. Continue toward Kite Hill and the lake viewpoint on foot; event closures can alter circulation.

Public restrooms and drinking fountains are listed park amenities near developed central areas; verify event access before relying on them.

Park, viewpoints, play area, lawns, and trail connections are free. Reservations, permits, events, food, and transportation may charge.

Developed routes connect parking, lawns, viewpoints, and play areas, while Kite Hill grades, crowds, wet grass, and event fencing vary.

Keep dogs leashed and out of play areas and restricted shoreline. Pick up waste and control pets around crowded lawns and bicycle traffic.

The Play Barn, Kite Hill, sundial, lawns, and skyline views are family-friendly, but preserved machinery is not general climbing equipment and the lake is off limits.

The Burke-Gilman Trail runs past the parking lot, and buses serve Wallingford and Fremont approaches.

No swimming, fishing, wading, boat launching, or water entry is allowed because lake sediment contains hazardous substances. Check the 2026 large-event calendar before visiting.
