Norfolk Botanical Garden

The Garden is currently open daily 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. through September 30. Seasonal daytime hours and evening-event schedules change later in the year, so check the dated admission calendar before traveling.

Free visitor parking is available at the main entrance near Baker Hall. High-demand bloom periods and evening light events can require reserved arrival times and fill the closest spaces.

Use the main Azalea Garden Road entrance and start at Baker Hall. Choose the children's garden, rose and Japanese gardens, or a tram overview before walking because the property is large.

Restrooms and water are available at Baker Hall and selected developed garden areas. Interior paths can be far from the entrance, so use facilities before a long loop.

Norfolk Botanical Garden is a paid nonprofit attraction, with prices and reservation requirements varying by daytime season and special event. Discounts and reciprocal-garden programs require current identification.

Many primary paths and visitor facilities are accessible, and tram options reduce walking. Some permeable paths slope between the Rose Garden, NATO Bridge and Wildflower Meadow; confirm mobility-device and tour arrangements in advance.

Pet dogs are currently admitted on Sundays only and nonmembers pay the posted dog fee in addition to human admission. Dogs cannot enter World of Wonders or the Butterfly House. Trained service animals follow the accessibility policy, with a safety exception around splash fountains.

World of Wonders is the primary children's destination and is currently scheduled 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. through October 15. Its splash fountains are scheduled through September 30, weather permitting, so bring water shoes and a change of clothes.

The garden sits near Norfolk International Airport but is easiest to reach by car or rideshare. Ordinary transit may require a long or impractical walk; verify current routing.

Reserve ahead for major blooms, holidays and evening light events. Free tram tours, paid boat tours, the Butterfly House, World of Wonders and splash fountains each have seasonal schedules; outdoor collections change dramatically by season, and airport noise is part of the setting.

Check current Hampton Roads weather, surf and rip-current forecasts, tides, wind, heat index, air quality and operator alerts. Thunderstorms, coastal flooding, high water, extreme heat and special events can independently affect roads, beaches, trails, bridges or facilities.
