Rotary Park

Rotary Park is a distinct mapped destination within Memory Grove Park; navigate to this point instead of the general park pin and check posted conditions on arrival.

Closest parking is limited. Use legal parking near the lower Canyon Road entrance and walk in; Capitol activity, ceremonies and canyon construction can restrict access.

Memory Grove follows posted City park hours. City Creek Canyon is currently open 8:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m., closing at 8:00 p.m. on listed summer holidays; construction can change access. Rotary Park may keep shorter, seasonal, staffed, reserved, road-controlled, weather-dependent or daylight-only hours; verify its current status before relying on parent hours.

Salt Lake City lists a restroom and drinking fountain in Memory Grove. Facilities become sparse farther into the natural area and canyon.

General memorial park and trail access is free. Permitted ceremonies, reservations and special events may charge.

The formal park has developed paths, but canyon connections add grade and natural surfaces. Construction traffic and limited close parking can affect step-free arrival.

Dogs must be leashed inside the memorial park. The adjacent half-mile Freedom Trail is designated off leash; dogs are prohibited above City Creek picnic site 16 and must stay out of the creek.

This is a memorial and walking destination rather than a playground. Keep children close around the pond, creek, monuments, dogs, stairs and shared canyon road.

Private vehicles are currently prohibited in City Creek Canyon during construction. People and pets may never enter the water inside Memory Grove, and canyon picnic reservations are paused during the project.

Downtown buses and TRAX can bring visitors near State Street, North Temple or the Capitol, followed by a walk. No regular route enters Memory Grove or the canyon.
