Albion Basin

Albion Basin is a distinct mapped destination within Little Cottonwood Canyon; navigate to this point instead of the general park pin and check posted conditions on arrival.

Parking is scarce at roadside trailheads and resorts. Route to a named destination, obey all no-parking and tow zones, and expect road closures or full lots during powder days and peak summer weekends.

Summer road, shuttle and parking access is seasonal and can be controlled or closed; winter access follows Alta operations and snow conditions.

Dependable restrooms are concentrated at resort and developed sites. Small trailheads may have none; carry water and never drink untreated watershed water.

Public road and most trail access is free. Resort parking and activities, Albion Basin summer access, shuttles and special facilities can carry separate fees.

Developed Snowbird and Alta areas provide paved access, while most canyon trails are steep, rocky and snowy. Temple Quarry offers a shorter developed historical route.

No pets are allowed anywhere in Little Cottonwood Canyon's protected watershed, including in vehicles. Confirm qualified service-animal requirements before travel.

Temple Quarry, Lisa Falls and developed resort areas can suit shorter family visits. Streams, granite slabs, traffic, altitude and rapidly changing weather demand close supervision.

SR-210 is highly avalanche-exposed and can close for hours during mitigation. Winter traction rules are strict; summer Albion Basin access and parking can also be controlled.

Seasonal ski bus and resort service varies. Confirm the current UTA and resort schedule rather than assuming year-round service, and never rely on an uncertain canyon rideshare pickup.
