Katy Trail

As a City of Dallas park, the trail is open 5:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. daily.

There is no single official lot. Street parking is available near Katy Trail Ice House, Cambrick Street by Cambrick Plaza, and Carlisle Place near Snyder's Union; posted signs control.

Select a named access point instead of navigating only to Katy Trail. Emergency markers KT-100 through KT-125 identify locations along the 3.5-mile corridor.

Restrooms and water are available at selected plazas, parks, and adjacent businesses rather than continuously; plan around a known access point.

Trail access is free. Parking, food, drinks, events, and adjacent businesses charge separately.

The main urban trail is paved with many ramped access points, but grades, narrow approaches, crowds, bikes, runners, and street crossings differ by segment.

Leashed dogs are common. Keep to the correct side, use a short leash around runners and bikes, carry water, and remove waste.

Short segments near plazas, Reverchon Park, and Knox Street work better with young children than an end-to-end trip; peak times can be crowded and fast-moving.

DART, M-Line trolley, buses, walking, and biking reach different trail segments. Plan start and finish points before routing.

The trail is linear and has no single parking destination. Peak-hour crowding, heat, darkness, street crossings, and mixed walking/running/cycling speeds require awareness.

Check Dallas's hourly heat index, lightning, severe-storm and heavy-rain alerts, flash-flood risk, air quality, and current facility notices. Pavement, play equipment, rock, and exposed trails become dangerously hot, while low trails and creeks may flood quickly.
