Cedar Ridge Preserve main trailhead

The gravel lot and marked spaces fill quickly. Carpool on weekends; official overflow parking is at Park in the Woods Recreation Center, 6801 Mountain Creek Parkway, subject to current signs.

Open Tuesday-Sunday 6:30 a.m. to dusk and closed every Monday; special holiday and weather closures are posted separately.

Basic visitor facilities are near the entrance; trail sections have no restrooms or water. Carry enough water and return before dusk.

Admission is free; a $5 or greater donation is suggested to support volunteer maintenance and conservation.

This is a nature preserve rather than a conventional park. Many trails are rocky, steep, narrow, muddy, or rooted and should be matched to each visitor's ability.

Follow the preserve's current pet rules and all posted habitat restrictions. Wildlife protection and trail congestion take priority over recreation.

Older children who can manage hills and heat may enjoy ponds, wildlife, fossils, and overlooks; this is not a playground or stroller-oriented destination.
