Bachman Lake Park

Park and trail hours are 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. daily; the recreation center, pool, pavilion, and programs keep shorter schedules.

Use 3500 West Northwest Highway for general park access or navigate to the recreation center, skate park, pavilion, playground, or boat ramp for the closest lot.

The north and south shores feel different. Choose a feature first; the south side has restrooms and close Love Field aircraft views.

A restroom facility is on the south side, with additional facilities at the recreation center and indoor pool during their operating hours.

General park, trail, playground, exercise stations, picnic space, and fishing access are free; pool admission, programs, and reservations may charge.

The mixed concrete-and-asphalt loop, benches, fountains, parking, and developed facilities support many accessible visits, though pavement condition and construction vary.

Leashed dogs may use ordinary park and trail areas. Keep pets away from wildlife and unsafe lake water and carry water in hot weather.

The short lake loop, playground, skate park, planes overhead, picnic space, and indoor aquatic center provide several different family visit options.

DART buses serve Northwest Highway and nearby neighborhoods; check current stops and safe crossings for the exact side of the lake.

The lake is not a swimming area. Expect aircraft noise, exposed heat, waterfowl near the path, cyclists and runners on the loop, and separate recreation-center schedules.

Check Dallas's hourly heat index, lightning, severe-storm and heavy-rain alerts, flash-flood risk, air quality, and current facility notices. Pavement, play equipment, rock, and exposed trails become dangerously hot, while low trails and creeks may flood quickly.
