Lake Watauga

Lake Watauga anchors the park loop and provides water views and seasonal wildlife, but it is not a swimming or wading area.

Use an open lot nearest the Parthenon, Arts Center, Sportsplex, or dog park. Phase-three work closes the north side and part of 27th Avenue through fall 2026; Parthenon and Arts Center lots remain accessible.

Open daily from dawn to 11:00 p.m. The Parthenon, Sportsplex, Arts Center, dog park, concessions, programs, and events use separate schedules.

Restrooms are most dependable inside staffed destinations such as the Parthenon, Sportsplex, and Arts Center during their own hours; event facilities and construction can change the closest option.

Outdoor park, trail, lake, gardens, monuments, lawns, and dog areas are free. Museum admission, Sportsplex use, programs, reservations, food, and ticketed events cost separately.

Major destinations and much of the one-mile loop use paved routes, but current construction, event layouts, grades, lawn surfaces, and temporary detours affect individual approaches.

Leash dogs in ordinary park areas. Flag Pole Hill provides separate fenced large- and small-dog areas open dawn to dusk; dogs are restricted from posted buildings and event areas.

Families can explore the Parthenon, gardens, lake loop, monuments, arts programs, and events. The park does not advertise a destination playground or splash pad; Centennial Sportsplex pools are separate and paid.
