Use 131 E. Falls Park Drive for the main park and shelter or route directly to the Visitor Information Center for maps and the observation tower. Several free lots serve different overlooks and attractions.

Yes. Multiple free surface lots serve the Visitor Center, overlooks, cafe, shelter, and park attractions. Farmers market, marathon, holiday lights, and major events can fill or redirect individual lots.

Yes. Paved paths connect the overlooks and join Sioux Falls's 45-plus-mile recreation trail system. Falls Park and the Downtown River Greenway remain open until midnight, later than most trail sections.

Restrooms are available at developed facilities including the Visitor Center area during operating periods, with event or seasonal facilities elsewhere. Identify an open building before visiting early morning, late evening, or in winter.

Visitor Center and tower hours are seasonal: 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. daily May 4-August 31, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. through October, and limited holiday-season hours later in the year. It closes on specified holidays and hours may change.

Yes. Falls Park has an electrified open-air shelter with 14 tables, plus picnic tables elsewhere. Reservations guarantee use; an unreserved shelter is first come, first served. Grills must remain outside shelters, glass is prohibited, and special setups may require permits.

Yes. The City lists an accessible playground in Falls Park, along with nearby restrooms, drinking fountains, walking paths, and picnic facilities. Navigate to the playground rather than the general waterfall pin when play access is the priority.

Pawsible Dog Park is at adjacent Jacobson Plaza in Falls Park West, not beside the main waterfall overlooks. Dogs must be leashed while entering and leaving designated dog areas and remain under control; ordinary Falls Park paths are not an off-leash zone.

Falls Park has a reservable 20-by-40-foot picnic shelter and a larger open-air shelter with electricity. The Visitor Center, observation tower, Overlook Cafe, and Stockyards Ag Experience provide indoor or enclosed space only during their own posted hours. Waterfall overlooks, quartzite outcrops, bridges, playground, lawns, and much of the recreation trail are exposed. During lightning, flooding, high wind, or extreme cold or heat, leave the river and falls edge and use a confirmed-open substantial building or enclosed vehicle.

No current splash pad or designated swimming area is listed at Falls Park. The Big Sioux River, falls, quartzite ledges, and quarry water are not family water-play areas; wet rocks are slippery, currents strengthen rapidly, and people have died during high-water incidents. Renderings in long-range master-plan documents show possible future water features, not operating amenities. Use one of Sioux Falls' currently listed pools or spray parks instead.

The Purple Line stops on Weber Avenue at both the east and west Falls Park entrances. It connects with the downtown bus terminal and normally runs hourly, so check live times before leaving and use the entrance closest to the Visitor Information Center, Overlook Cafe, Queen Bee Mill ruins, or Levitt event area.
