Goodale Park

Goodale Park is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Shelterhouse is a reservable building with separate rental access Tuesday through Sunday and on holidays.

City parking lots are off Park Street and Dennison Avenue. Large events and Short North traffic can affect access, so verify event notices before relying on the closest lot.

Use 120 West Goodale Street for the park. Select the pond or Shelterhouse before arrival because the park spans several blocks and the official facility map records them as separate destinations.

The Shelterhouse includes restrooms for building users. The city park page does not promise a separate walk-up public restroom, so confirm building or event access before relying on it.

Ordinary park use is free. Shelterhouse rental starts at $100 per hour for city residents and $120 per hour for nonresidents, with minimum hours and other fees depending on the booking.

The city lists paved paths and describes the Shelterhouse as accessible. Older outdoor paths, turf and pond-edge conditions vary, so that does not establish that every park route is barrier-free.

Animals must be securely leashed or under direct control, and handlers must remove waste. Goodale Park is not listed as a city off-leash dog park.

The playground, pond and open lawns support a simple central-city family stop. Keep children back from the open pond edge and verify major-event conditions.

The official park page links to COTA's trip planner; High Street service is a short walk east of the park.

Large events can transform parking and circulation. The pond is an open water body, and the city does not list Goodale Park among its swimming facilities.

Check current Columbus-area weather and operator alerts. Scioto, Olentangy and Darby water levels, heat, storms, snow, ice and high winds can close fountains, river paths, trails or facilities independently.
