Smale Riverfront Park

Open daily 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. After 9:00 p.m., visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Water features, carousel and restrooms keep shorter schedules.

Use paid Banks garages or downtown meters and garages. Stadium games, concerts, fireworks and festivals can fill or close the nearest facilities.

Smale stretches several blocks. Choose the carousel and western playgrounds, Roebling Bridge area, Pichler fountains or Main Street water play before parking.

Four public restroom locations are listed 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m., including Pichler Fountain, Roebling Bridge, Walnut Street and the Portland Loo.

Park, playgrounds, fountains, swings, gardens and river trail are free. Carousel rides, parking, food and reserved events cost separately.

Paved esplanades, elevators and accessible play connect major areas, but elevator outages, wet fountain paving and high-water closures can change routes.

Leashed dogs are welcome on ordinary paths; keep them out of fountains, carousel and crowded play equipment.

This is one of Cincinnati's strongest free family destinations. Bring towels and verify fountain operation before promising water play.

The streetcar and Metro reach The Banks and downtown, followed by a short walk toward the river.

Spraygrounds normally operate 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. from May 1 through Labor Day. Ohio River flooding and major stadium events can close paths or alter access.
