Prospect Park Ravine and Waterfall

The Ravine is a wooded interior landscape with streams, bridges, and waterfalls; paths include slopes, steps, mud, and limited nighttime visibility.

There is no dependable general visitor lot. Street parking around the perimeter is limited, so subway, bus, walking, or biking is usually easier. Choose the entrance nearest your destination before arriving.

Open daily 6 AM-1 AM; individual attractions and facilities keep separate hours.

Seasonal and year-round comfort stations are spread across the park, including near the Picnic House, Boathouse, Children's Corner, Lincoln Road, and Lakeside. Confirm the nearest open facility on the official map.

Park entry is free. The zoo, carousel, skating, boat rentals, concessions, and some programs charge separately.

Major entrances and many paved routes are accessible, but the park is hilly and some woodland paths are uneven. Accessible facilities and entrances should be matched to the destination.

Dogs must generally be leashed. Designated off-leash hours and areas include portions of Long Meadow, the Nethermead, and Peninsula Meadow; Dog Beach is for water access, not an all-day off-leash zone.

Strong family choices include Children's Corner, multiple playgrounds, the carousel, zoo, Lakeside splash pad, lake, and broad lawns. Distances are large, so choose one or two zones per visit.

The 2/3 serves Grand Army Plaza; B/Q serves Prospect Park and nearby east-side entrances; F/G serves 15 St-Prospect Park. Several buses follow the perimeter.
