Pier 97

Pier 97 is the northern recreation pier with playground and gathering spaces. It closes earlier than the overall park and can be affected by events or weather.

There is no single park lot and west-side parking is expensive. Transit, walking, biking, and choosing a cross street for the intended pier are usually best.

Open daily 6 AM-1 AM unless posted otherwise. Individual piers, rooftops, playgrounds, restrooms, concessions, and partner attractions have separate hours.

Accessible restrooms are distributed at Pier 25, Pier 40, Pier 45, Pier 51, Gansevoort Peninsula, Little Island, Pier 57, Chelsea Waterside, Pier 84, Pier 97, and other facilities; hours vary by location and season.

Park entry, public lawns, many playgrounds, and many programs are free. Commercial attractions, food, rentals, and some activities charge.

Major park paths and public restrooms are accessible, but some piers and partner spaces have distinct routes, elevators, and schedules.

Leashed dogs are permitted on designated paths and dog runs are available, but dogs are excluded from lawns, playgrounds, beaches, and some piers or partner spaces.

Pier 25, Pier 51, Chelsea Waterside, Gansevoort Peninsula, Pier 57, Little Island, sports fields, and river ecology programs provide varied family options.
