Queens Zoo

Queens Zoo is a separately ticketed attraction on the west side of the central park. Check zoo hours and entry requirements rather than relying on park hours.

Parking is spread among destination-specific lots and can change during Mets games, US Open events, festivals, and construction. Do not assume the closest lot serves every attraction.

Queens Zoo follows its own staffed, seasonal, program, ferry, or maintenance schedule. Confirm today's availability with NYC Parks before making a special trip.

NYC Parks lists comfort stations at Carousel Loop, Playground for All Children, Ederle Terrace, Meadow Lake Boathouse, several playgrounds, and other park zones. Typical city restroom hours begin around 8 AM and extend later seasonally.

Park entry and outdoor landmarks are free. Museums, the zoo, tennis events, recreation facilities, rentals, and concessions may charge.

Many major promenades and attractions are accessible, but the park is enormous and highway or rail barriers make routes indirect. Use destination-specific accessible entrances.

Dogs must be leashed except in designated dog-run or off-leash areas. Pets are not allowed in playgrounds, zoo exhibits, or ticketed venues unless they are service animals.

The Playground for All Children, multiple themed playgrounds, zoo, science museum, Queens Museum, lake, and open lawns support full-day family visits.

Take the 7 train to Mets-Willets Point for the central World's Fair area. Q48 and other buses serve perimeter approaches; walking distances within the park remain substantial.
