Bryant Park Lawn

The central lawn is open when turf and event conditions allow. A closed lawn does not mean the surrounding promenades, chairs, food, or activities are closed.

There is no park parking and Midtown driving is slow and expensive. Subway, bus, walking, or nearby commercial garages are the realistic options.

May-September: daily 7 AM-11 PM. October and January-April: 7 AM-10 PM. November-December hours extend to midnight Thursday-Sunday.

Staffed public restrooms are on the 42nd Street and 40th Street sides, with changing facilities and accessible fixtures. Summer hours generally extend to 11 PM but maintenance can shorten them.

Park entry, chairs, lawn access, reading room, and many games and events are free. Carousel, food, rentals, and some seasonal services charge.

Level perimeter entrances and paved promenades make most areas accessible. The lawn can close after rain or for event setup.

Leashed dogs are permitted on paved areas but not on the central lawn. Owners must follow posted event and seasonal restrictions.

Le Carrousel, games, children's reading programs, lawn time, food, performances, and winter skating work well for short family visits.

B/D/F/M and 7 trains stop at 42 St-Bryant Park/Fifth Avenue; many buses run on Fifth, Sixth, and 42nd Street.
